Assigment #2 : Father of Advertising




David Ogilvy

A man that was born with great vision. When many struggle to transmit messages through advertisement, he managed to do so with ease. Not only that, in the ear where people place extra effort to be creative,he did it in the simplest way (but still,creative) that caught many competitors off- guard.

For examples,Hathaway Shirt advertisement,Dove advertisement,and also Rolls Royce.These are the company that David Ogilvy boost their market with the great innovation and creative poster.From these we can see that Ogilvy and Matters hold many account of big companies.As a award winning copy-writer for several times.His major motto is always "never spend money on advertising which do not sell".

As time and era passes by,advertising grows from having as many body copy to describe a product into having as minimal of words to send the messages.Ogilvy realize that change,and he overcome the excessive body copy on an advert by many ways such as, placing a public figure in the advertisement to make it more appealing to the public.Beside that, humor is also one of the way he used to attract the audience.

For the past decades,ogilvy has indeed become a breakthrough in the advertising world. In quoting his words "Never stop testing and your advertising will never stop improving" . Ogilvy's principal is used for motivational purposes.
